Your 8th grade students will have the opportunity to explore exciting career paths at the in-person career exposition in the fall of 2023! JOCO WORKS will present real-world simulations of available career options. Each exhibit will be presented by top employers in our region. By attending JOCO WORKS, students will learn how to begin building a meaningful career at the beginning of high school.
The JOCO WORKS student guidebook highlights what it takes to succeed in various industries and lists sample occupations, general educational requirements, and average salaries. Please discuss this information booklet with your students and encourage them to ask questions. You will also find a teacher's guide with lesson plans and all necessary resources.
JOCO WORKS will be held for all Johnston County 8th grade students. Additionally, JOCO WORKS NOW will also be virtual for any Johnston County high school or post-secondary student, parent, or job seeker, as well as all 8th grade homeschooled students. Note: All 8th grade homeschooled students must register to attend.
